PRAYAGRAJ, July 29 -- A five-year-old girl died after a dilapidated mud house collapsed in Jamunapur village under Mahevaghat police station limits of Kaushambi district on Tuesday morning. Police have sent the body for a postmortem examination. The victim, identified as Priya, daughter of Pankaj Kumar, was playing inside her thatched mud house at around 10 am when the old structure suddenly caved in, trapping her under the debris. Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to the spot and, along with family members, removed the rubble to rescue the child. She was pulled out in a critical condition and immediately taken to a ne- arby hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival. On receiving information, station house officer Dhirendra Singh reached the village and inspected the spot. After completing the necessary formalities, the body has been sent for a postmortem examination and further proceedings are underway, he added....
