Get set for a wet Sunday: Monsoon likely to pick up pace from July 26
LUCKNOW, July 25 -- The Met department has forecast that as the monsoon trough shifts back towards the north, an increase in monsoon activity is expected from July 26, followed by a likelihood of heavy rainfall from July 27.
In the last 24 hours, Lucknow recorded 12.7 mm rainfall.
On Friday, maximum and minimum temperatures in the state capital were 33.4 and 25.6 degrees Celsius, respectively. The forecast for Lucknow is partly cloudy with a possibility of light rain. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The state forecast is rain/thundershowers are very likely at isolated places over the state.
The forecast warns of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning very likely at isolated places in East UP.
As of July 24, UP's rain deficit is pegged at 19% which is normal.
East UP's deficit is 27% and West UP's 6%.
