VARANASI, Sept. 9 -- A gang was busted and four of its members arrested on Tuesday for allegedly defrauding a family in Sonbhadra by impersonating their son, who had been missing for 13 years, police said. The arrested accused were identified as Jhura Gosai, 46, Sintu, 29, Sehalu alias Selu, 66, and Sangal Prasad, 29, all residents of Balrampur district, Sonbhadra superintendent of police Abhishek Verma said on Tuesday. Verma said Anil Kumar, son of Ramsurat Sahani of Alaur Tola in Gurdah village, went missing around 12 years ago when he was 18. Two days ago, Ramsurat filed a complaint with Chopan police, alleging that on August 17, two men dressed as sadhus visited his brother-in-law Dhanesh Prasad's home and one of them claimed to be Ramsurat's son. The accused demanded Rs.6 lakh for four bhandaras, claiming it was required to bring the missing son home on his guru's orders. The accused allegedly continued demanding money from the family on different occasions. Under SHO Gopal Ji Gupta, Chopan police arrested four accused. Their interrogation is underway to identify other gang members and establish their involvement in similar past incidents, SP said....
