Gandhi, Shastri Jayanti celebrated at Obra plant
Sonbhadra, Oct. 4 -- The Obra Thermal Power Station organised a programme on Saturday at Gandhi Maidan to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the 122nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The programme began with garlanding and floral tributes to the portraits of both great leaders.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Dudh Nath, chief general manager, said that on October 2 Mother India gave the nation Bapu, the apostle of truth and non-violence, and Shastri Ji, the symbol of simplicity and honesty. The chief general manager also said that the theme of this year's "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign is "Swachhata mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat", and that the "Seva ka Sankalp" campaign is being run at the project from 17 September to 17 October.
Among those present were Nikhil Chaturvedi, general manager (administration); AK Rai, GM (civil); Madan Mohan Chaturvedi, GM (BTPS); superintending engineers Rajeshwar Prasad, Jitendra Mishra, Suresh Chandra Mishra, Sudhanshu Yadav and Sanjay Patel; Akhilesh Tripathi, DGM (accounts); Dr PK Singh, chief medical officer and Sadaram Yadav, deputy commandant, CISF, along with a large number of officers, employees, teachers, students and local residents....
