PRAYAGRAJ, May 16 -- Four youths, including a man and his nephews, were killed late Thursday night in a road accident in Kaushambi district after a tractor rammed into their motorcycle near Maharajganj village in the Karari police station area. Another relative sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a medical college hospital, police said. According to police, all five victims were traveling on a single motorcycle to attend a wedding ceremony in Dariyapur village when the accident occurred. The deceased were identified as 26-year-old Akash, 21-year-old Rahul and 19-year-old Aman, all residents of Dhanpara village under Karari police station limits, as well as 23-year-old Chhotu, a relative from Thambha village. The injured person, identified as Vikas, is a distant relative from Madhya Pradesh. Police said the speeding tractor, coming from the opposite direction, lost control and crashed into the motorcycle near Maharajganj village. The impact of the collision was so severe that the front wheels of the tractor reportedly detached and were thrown several meters away. Officials said the tractor driver is in police custody and further legal action will be taken based on the complaint filed by the victims' family members. Police said the two were returning home after attending a wedding procession in Jaitipur village under the Kandhai police station area. At around 12.30 am, the motorcycle hit a Nilgai near Bharthipur village on the Kishunganj-Rakhaha road after the animal suddenly crossed their path. Both riders suffered critical injuries in the accident. Passersby informed the police, who rushed the injured youths to a medical college, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Police later informed the families after recovering a mobile phone from the spot and contacting relatives. Two people died and three others were seriously injured after a car carrying pilgrims crashed into a roadside tree near Hulasgarh market under the Maheshganj police station area in Pratapgarh on Friday evening. According to police, the vehicle lost control on the Pratapgarh-Kunda road and rammed into a large tree. The group, from Rajgarh under the Dehat Kotwali police station area, was travelling to Mangarh Dham for a pilgrimage. Those in the vehicle included Antima Gautam ,18, Richa Gautam ,17, Shakti Gautam ,20, his younger sister Sonali ,11, Mahak ,18, and Annu Gautam ,25. Sheru, a resident of Dharupur, was driving the car. Local residents pulled the occupants out of the wreckage. However, Richa Gautam and Annu Gautam died on the spot, while Shakti, Mahak and Sonali suffered serious injuries.Police said the driver fled the scene after the accident....
