Haldwani, Aug. 11 -- Police arrested four men allegedly involved in the smuggling of intoxicating injections during a checking drive in Haldwani's Banbhulpura area, officials said on Monday. According to Banbhulpura station house officer Dinesh Fataryal, the four were arrested near Gaula Rokhad during a routine checking operation on Sunday night. Police recovered 25 intoxicating injections and 25 Avil injections from their possession. The arrested men were identified as Sameer alias Mohammad Chand, 25, Zubair Khan, 25, Mohammad Javed, 26, and Farman Ali, 26. All four are residents of Ghafoor Basti in Banbhulpura, police said. "Police recovered 25 intoxicating injections containing substances including Jesic, buprenorphine and hydr- ochloride. In addition, 25 Avil injections were also recovered from the accused," Fataryal said. An FIR has been filed against the four under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. "The criminal records of the accused are being examined to determine whether they have been involved in similar offences in the past," the SHO said....
