Haldwani, Sept. 22 -- A team of officers from the Himachal Pradesh police on Monday arrested four people in Rudrapur for allegedly misappropriating part of a haul of cash and jewellery seized from a couple accused of burgling the home of a Himachal Pradesh-based businessmen during a check at the state border with Uttar Pradesh, police said. The suspects were identified as excise sub-inspector Devender Kumar, excise constable Baljeet Singh, Prantiya Rakshak Dal worker Naeem Ahmad and UPNL worker Pappu Lal. Police said the haul was seized on September 9 from a Nepalese couple who allegedly burgled the home of the woman's employer. "A Himachal Pradesh police team had arrived here three days ago and received full cooperation from our side," said SSP Ajay Ganpati. After reaching Nepal, the woman allegedly informed the businessman about the theft, he said.
