LUCKNOW, Oct. 27 -- : A tanker carrying formalin overturned on Kisan Path in Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area around 6.30 pm on Monday after a tyre burst, prompting the deployment of police, fire services and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams. According to Lucknow police, the tanker was travelling from Sandila to a plywood factory in Gudamba when the accident occurred. The area was cordoned off and traffic diverted to keep people away from the chemical spill. Police said teams from the police, fire services, SDRF and Varun Factory were working to neutralise the chemical. Medical teams were also deployed at the spot. Authorities warned that exposure to formalin could cause irritation in the eyes, nose, throat and skin, and advised residents in nearby areas to exercise caution. Police said the situation was under control. The extent of the spill and any reports of exposure-related symptoms were not immediately known....
