Fix public grievances in timely manner: CM
Dehradun, Oct. 11 -- Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday asked officials to ensure priority and time-bound resolution of public grievances.
He was speaking at a multipurpose public service camp organised under the 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan' at Kshatriya Chetna Manch on Tapovan Road, Dehradun, on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami emphasized that if a specific issue requires additional time for resolution, the complainant must be given clear and transparent information regarding the delay. "It is the responsibility of officers to ensure that the general public does not have to make repeated visits to government offices for routine work," he said.
The CM said that the 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan' has been ongoing across the state since September 17, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. "Under PM Modi's leadership, India has achieved milestone progress globally and is rapidly moving toward the vision of a Developed India ('Viksit Bharat'). Aligning with this vision, the state government is using the campaign to promote public service, drive civic participation, and address local issues directly," he said.
CM Dhami also said that over 6.5 lakh citizens participated across two phases of the state's previous 'Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar' initiative.
"Through those camps, a large number of public grievances were resolved, and eligible citizens were linked to welfare schemes," he added.
He said that the government's primary goal was to bring governance directly to the people's doorsteps so that officials understand ground-level issues firsthand. "The objective of these multipurpose camps is not merely to set up stalls, but to deliver government schemes, services, and facilities directly to the public," CM Dhami said.
"Grievances should be addressed on the spot wherever possible. Our priority is to reach the last person in line so that no eligible citizen is deprived of benefits due to a lack of awareness or procedural complexities."
He added that the "double-engine" government was working continuously to make public services simpler, more accessible, and more effective-particularly for senior citizens, women, and residents of remote areas seeking certificates, pensions, ration cards, or healthcare.
During the event, CM Dhami reiterated the campaign's focus on public health, saying that free health check-ups and medical consultations at these camps aid early disease detection....
