MEERUT, Aug. 2 -- Five minors, aged between 10 and 14 years, have been booked for the allegedly gang raping a nine-year-old Dalit girl in a village under the Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur district, police said on Saturday. Circle officer (Tilhar) Vidush Saxena said that the incident took place on Friday evening when the girl was playing with other children on a school ground, and the minors allegedly took her to a nearby field. According to the FIR registered in the case, Saxena said the girl's family alleged that the accused gang-raped her in the field and fled the spot after the owner of the field spotted them. The girl later reached home and informed her mother about the incident, following which a complaint was lodged and a case was registered late on Friday night, he added. Police have registered a case under the BNS, the POCSO Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The accused are being questioned in the presence of their guardians, as required under juvenile law. The survivor has been sent for a medical examination....
