LUCKNOW, Feb. 27 -- Five men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly beating a youth unconscious and robbing him of cash and mobile phones in Dubagga, Lucknow police said. The incident occurred on Wednesday when Noman's father, Faiyyaz, a resident of Chhandoiya under Dubagga police station limits, filed a complaint stating his son was attacked by a group armed with sticks. The accused allegedly assaulted the youth with the intent to kill, before fleeing with Rs.20,000 and two mobile phones. Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections related to attempted culpable homicide, causing hurt with dangerous weapons, and robbery.
