Fish trader's murder: Two arrested,juvenile taken into custody
GORAKHPUR, Aug. 11 -- Swift police action followed the alleged murder of fish trader Hajari Lal, 32, in Kharkhora village under the Brijmanganj police station area of Maharajganj district on Sunday night. Police arrested two accused and took a juvenile into protective custody in connection with the case on Monday.
Brijmanganj SHO MM Mishra said the arrested accused have been identified as Umesh Sahani, 27, and Rampyare Sahani, 31.
Police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased's father, Raj Kumar, and launched an investigation.
Police said Hajari Lal had been living in Kharkhora area for nearly a decade and was involved in fish farming. He was reportedly running three ponds on lease. He was allegedly in a relationship with a woman from another caste. On Sunday night, he reportedly went to meet the woman, where an argument ensued. The dispute later turned violent, and he was allegedly attacked and hacked to death. ASP Siddharth said a case had been registered under relevant sections of the BNS.
