First high-rise society in Gautam Buddha Nagar goes solar
LUCKNOW, July 17 -- A 500 kWp grid-connected rooftop solar power plant has been commissioned at Arihant Arden Apartment Owners Association (AOA) in Greater Noida West, making it the first high-rise residential society in Gautam Buddha Nagar to install such a project under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, according to Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL).
The project is expected to benefit 1,519 apartment owners by lowering common-area electricity costs. Installed under the Centre's rooftop solar scheme, the plant will power shared facilities such as lifts, corridor lighting, water pumps, club facilities and other common utilities.
According to NPCL, the AOA received Rs.90 lakh as Central Financial Assistance from the Government of India within 30 days of commissioning approval facilitated by the utility.
The plant is expected to generate about 6 lakh to 7.5 lakh units of electricity annually, resulting in estimated savings of Rs.40 lakh to Rs.45 lakh every year.
The project is also expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 550 to 650 tonnes annually, NPCL said.
NPCL said it provided technical guidance, regulatory support, timely approvals and grid synchronisation to facilitate the project's implementation in compliance with applicable standards and regulations....
