PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 25 -- A case involving the alleged spread of misleading and fabricated information on social media aimed at tarnishing the image of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has come to light. Acting on a complaint filed by a Section Officer of the Commission, the Civil Lines police have registered a named FIR and launched an investigation. According to the complaint, Waqar Ahmed Ansari, a Section Officer at the UPPSC, alleged that Mukesh Kumar Verma had posted on his account on X claiming that the Commission had admitted, through an affidavit submitted before the Allahabad High Court, that it was providing 50 percent reservation to upper-caste candidates. The Commission categorically denied the claim, stating that the information being circulated is factually incorrect and misleading. Civil Lines SHO Ramashray Yadav confirmed that a named FIR has been registered based on the complaint. A teenager who allegedly lost his balance after feeling dizzy while sitting on a canal bridge near his village drowned after falling into the canal. Following an overnight search operation, an NDRF team recovered his body on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Kinjal Mishra, a resident of Tekipatti Harbaspur village under the Baghrai police station area of Pratapgarh. According to police and family members, Kinjal had left home on Sunday evening and was sitting on a canal bridge near the village.
