Lucknow, May 27 -- Lucknow Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against an unidentified Facebook user for allegedly circulating objectionable communal content using the name and photograph of prominent Shia cleric Maulana Mirza Mohammad Yasoob Abbas. Police said the case was lodged at Chowk police station after the cleric complained that a fake post carrying inflammatory remarks was circulated from a Facebook account impersonating him with the intention of disturbing communal harmony. Maulana Yasoob Abbas publicly refuted the viral content and appealed to people not to share misleading social media posts. Police registered the case under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 66C of the Information Technology Act.
