Father, son electrocuted in Varanasi; trader dies in separate incident
VARANASI, Aug. 26 -- A father and his teenage son died of electrocution in the Lallapura area of Kazipur Khurd under the Sigra police station limits on Tuesday morning while putting up decorations outside their home.
According to police, 17-year-old Anas suffered an electric shock around 8:00 am while setting up decorations in front of their residence. His father, Salimuddin (alias Pappu), 45, rushed to rescue him but was electrocuted as well. Both died on the spot.
Salimuddin worked as a manager at a marriage hall, while Anas was a Class 12 student at City Pride School, Sigra. The family includes Salimuddin's wife and a 20-year-old daughter, police said.
Sigra police station in-charge inspector Shivakant Mishra said both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation is underway.
In a separate incident in the Kali Mahal area under the Chetganj police station limits, a 50-year-old trader was electrocuted to death. The deceased, identified as Trilok Modanwal, suffered a fatal electric shock while attempting to fill a water bottle from a water cooler. Chetganj police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem....
