Agra, Sept. 19 -- A woman with the help of her son, daughter and two other accomplices, strangled her husband to death over a dispute regarding the sale of a plot for Rs 15 lakh, in a village in Etah district. The body was disposed of in the Hazara canal. It is alleged, the deceased Udayveer Singh, 36, had sold off a plot for Rs 15 lakh. His wife secretly used Rs 10 lakh from the amount and bought another plot. This led to a dispute between the couple. Those arrested on Thursday included Anshul (19), the step son of deceased Udayveer Singh, his wife and a minor step daughter besides Charan Singh, a resident of Etah. Udayveer Singh had married the accused woman who already had a son and a minor daughter from her first marriage. According to deputy SP at Etah Kritika Singh, the complainant named Ajab Singh was concerned about his brother Udayveer Singh as his whereabouts were not known for about one week, and the wife beside the children were not giving any satisfactory reply. "Ajab Singh, a resident of village Lalpur in Etah district, got apprehensive about the fate of his brother and informed police at Kotwali Nagar," said the DSP Kritika Singh. The case was registered at Kotwali Nagar police station on September 15 and search began for the missing man. "During investigation, police interrogated the wife and stepchildren of the missing man and it was found that there was tension between the couple over a plot of land that Udayveer Singh had sold off for Rs 15 lakh," she stated. Police finally worked out the case and it was found that the wife, assisted by her son, daughter and two others strangulated Udayveer on the night of September 8 and threw the body in Hazara canal in Etah to conceal any evidence of the crime. The case was registered as crime case no. 450 of 2026 under section 191(2) (simple rioting), 103(1) (murder) and 238A (destroying evidence) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kotwali Nagar police station....
