LUCKNOW, Sept. 25 -- A 70-year-old woman was found dead inside the boundary of a house in Padmini Kheda village under Mohanlalganj police station in the early hours of Thursday, with police detaining three of her relatives for questioning in connection with the death. There are also allegations that the elderly woman was sexually assaulted and then beaten to death. However, the police are awaiting the post-mortem examination and forensic findings to establish the cause of death and determine whether there was any sexual assault. "Police received information about the woman lying at the spot around 1am and reached the village. She was found unconscious inside the boundary wall of a house and was rushed to the community health centre in Mohanlalganj, where doctors declared her dead," said DCP South Md Mushtaq. The three detained men are reportedly relatives of the deceased and are being questioned about the circumstances leading to her death, added the DCP.
