LUCKNOW, Sept. 6 -- As nearly 23,000 candidates prepare to appear for the UP Public Service Commission's Technical Education (Teaching) Service Examination-2025 in Lucknow on Sunday, the police have drawn up an elaborate security and traffic plan covering all 52 examination centres. A total of 22,996 candidates are scheduled to appear for the examination, which will be conducted in two shifts - from 9am to 11.30am and 2.30pm to 5pm, said a police statement. The Lucknow police have deployed 520 personnel for the examination, including 52 sub-inspectors, 156 head constables and constables, 104 women constables and 208 armed police personnel for the security of confidential examination material. At each examination centre, one sub-inspector, three head constables/constables and two women constables will be deployed for maintaining law and order. The police have also imposed strict restrictions around examination centres. Mobile phones, smartwatches, IT gadgets and other prohibited material will not be allowed inside the centres. Cyber cafes, photocopy shops and PCOs located within a 200-metre radius of examination centres will remain closed during the examination. "The use of loudspeakers and other sound-amplifying devices will also be prohibited during the examination to prevent disturbance to candidates," police added. Traffic management has been given particular attention as the examination is expected to generate movement across the city. Traffic police personnel will be deployed around examination centres as well as railway stations, bus stations, Metro stations and taxi stands to manage the expected rush of candidates and accompanying persons. Emergency response vehicles of UP-112 will also be stationed at locations close to examination centres. The police have additionally deployed Pink Patrol teams, UP-112 personnel and Anti-Romeo Squads around examination centres and other crowded locations to keep a watch on women's safety....
