Lucknow, July 30 -- UP Mahila Congress (Central) workers staged a protest on Wednesday near the Haiderganj intersection, burning the effigies of education minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. They were detained by police and taken to the local police outpost. Mamta Chaudhary, president, UP Mahila Congress, flayed BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's description of the country's 'Gen-Z' daughters as an insult to the nation's women and mothers. Mahila Congress office-bearers demanded that Ranaut apologise to the daughters of the nation. She said that the BJP could find no other than Prahlad Joshi to be the education minister-a man who, just two years ago, supported the accused in the Bilkis Bano rape case and claimed they were not guilty when the rapists were released from prison.
