Educationist remembered on 81st birth anniversary
LUCKNOW, June 29 -- The DAV Education Group on Saturday commemorated the 81st birth anniversary of noted educationist Pt Manmohan Tiwari with a memorial ceremony that also highlighted environmental conservation initiatives.
The programme began with a Vedic havan, followed by tributes to Pt Tiwari's contributions to education and social service. Former education minister and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Vajpeyi recalled his long association with Tiwari, describing him as a symbol of education, simplicity and selfless service who dedicated his life to the growth of educational institutions and society.
Former Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia inaugurated the Pt Manmohan Tiwari Smriti Navgrah Vatika and Pt Manmohan Tiwari Smriti Nakshatra Vatika, developed under the guidance of DAV College professor Dr Manindra Tiwari. She said the gardens would encourage future generations to embrace environmental conservation and India's cultural traditions.
DAV Education Group manager Anand Mohan Tiwari paid tribute to his father, saying he believed a person's true identity lay in service to society rather than position or wealth.
