Dy CM Maurya slams Mamata govt over 'insult' to President
Prayagraj, March 9 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was welcomed by BJP office-bearers and workers at Bamrauli Airport on Sunday. He was travelling from Kaushambi to Lucknow.
Extending Holi greetings, Maurya said a recent helicopter accident was averted due to the blessings of Goddess Shitala, Mahakal and the prayers of party workers.
Targeting West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Maurya criticised her for allegedly not receiving President Droupadi Murmu at the airport and for skipping an official programme. He said such conduct violated democratic traditions and reflected the Trinamool Congress government's autocratic style of functioning.
Maurya alleged that repeated instances of disrespect towards constitutional offices were an affront to the Constitution. "The President's office is above politics and represents the honour of the entire nation," he said, adding that the incident had hurt citizens who believe in democratic values....
