Dy CM Brajesh Pathak questions SP chief on madrasa funding
GORAKHPUR, July 19 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Saturday hit back at the opposition over allegations regarding donation theft at the Ram Mandir, saying Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav should also explain the sources of funding for madrasas and account for donations collected for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya.
He said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was probing the matter and that those found guilty would not be spared.
He also accused the opposition of attempting to defame Sanatan Dharma and recalled that the then SP government had ordered firing on Ram devotees in Ayodhya.
Pathak made the remarks while speaking to reporters after inspecting Subhash Chandra Bose District Hospital in Gorakhpur, where he reviewed healthcare facilities and interacted with patients.
During the inspection, he directed hospital authorities to install air conditioners in the emergency and surgery wards within five days.
He visited various wards, interacted with patients and their attendants, and reviewed the availability of medicines, cleanliness, diagnostic facilities and other healthcare services. He instructed officials to ensure that no patient was forced to purchase medicines or undergo diagnostic tests outside the hospital.
On complaints of waterlogging in the OPD following light rainfall and other deficiencies, Pathak ordered immediate corrective measures and directed officials to fix accountability for the lapses.
Officials informed him that the OPD building is located in a low-lying area. Pathak directed the health department to submit a detailed report on the issue and ensure all facilities comply with government standards.
Later, he held a review meeting with CMO Dr Rajesh Jha, hospital superintendent Dr OP Singh and other senior officials. "Patients must receive quality treatment with dignity. Any negligence or carelessness in public healthcare will invite strict action," Pathak said....
