BIKANER, Aug. 3 -- A cross-border drone smuggling attempt involving narcotics and firearms was foiled near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, where police seized 10 kg of heroin, 11 foreign-made firearms, 22 magazines and 100 live cartridges during a joint operation in the Khajuwala sector, police said on Sunday. One man was rounded up after he allegedly reached the spot to collect the consignment- the police said. Ashok Bishnoi, SHO, Khajuwala told HT- The seizure was made in the 8 KYD area during Operation Shock Wave, a joint operation by the District Special Team (DST) and Khajuwala police. A motorcycle suspected to have been used by the accused was also seized. The detained suspect has been identified as Virendra Singh. Preliminary investigation suggests the heroin is suspected to have originated in Afghanistan and was smuggled across the border through a drone drop- he said. Police suspect the consignment was meant to be transported to Punjab, but the operation was intercepted before it could be moved out of the border area- Bishnoi said....
