Draft ordinance approved to ease land use change process
Lucknow, March 24 -- The state cabinet on Monday approved the draft of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code (Amendment) Ordinance 2026 to ease the process of change of land use in notified areas of development authorities, industrial development authorities and notified areas.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the state cabinet meeting, which also approved a proposal to increase the crushing capacity of the Kisan Sahkari Chini Mill, Baghpat, from 2500 TCD (tonnes of cane per day) to 5000 TCD.
Briefing media persons, finance minister Suresh Khanna said Section 80 of Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code 2006 would be amended through the ordinance, when promulgated.
Under the existing system, one had to get change of land use done before getting the map approved, Khanna said.
Under the amended provisions, the land use would be considered changed if the map is passed by the respective development authority, Khanna said, adding that this would encourage investors.
Parikrama Marg in Sambhal
The state cabinet approved a proposal for construction/broadening of 24-Kosi Vanshgopal Tirth Parikrama Marg in Sambhal at an estimated cost of Rs.300.10 crore.
The state cabinet approved a proposal to amend the Uttar Pradesh Public Service (Tribunals) Act 1976.
Those aware of the development said the amendment provides to further relax the age limit from 62 to 65 years for members and 65 to 67 years for chairman/vice-chairman of the tribunal.
No official confirmation was, however, available.
