Don't remove contractual power workers without cause, says Sharma
Lucknow, June 3 -- Energy minister AK Sharma on Tuesday reviewed the state's power situation following recent storms and directed officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the state.
At a review meeting here, Sharma assessed the impact of the storm on power infrastructure, restoration efforts, and the status of consumer complaints. He instructed all distribution companies (discoms) to promptly address outages and maintain quality power supply, stressing that public interest should remain the top priority.
Expressing concern over reports of contractual employees being removed from service, Sharma instructed officials not to terminate any contractual worker without valid reasons. He said such employees play an important role in maintaining the power distribution system.
The minister also reviewed complaints received from public representatives. Taking note of grievances from Siddharthnagar, he ordered an inquiry into allegations against executive engineer Gyan Prakash and directed appropriate action if required....
