DM pushes for stronger mobile connectivity at polling booths
VARANASI, May 18 -- Sonbhadra district magistrate Charchit Gaur on Saturday directed the additional district election officer to immediately identify all polling stations, schools, and rural areas in the district facing poor mobile network connectivity.
The DM also directed telecom company officials to prioritise network services in the identified areas and swiftly begin the installation of new mobile towers wherever needed. The instructions were issued during a meeting with officials of BSNL and other telecom service providers.
He stressed that communication infrastructure plays a crucial role in election-related operations and said network connectivity must remain uninterrupted at every polling station.
He said a strong communication network would help ensure smoother management of the voting process, security arrangements, and administrative coordination.
Directing the concerned officials, he urged all departments to maintain close coordination and work on a "war footing" while conducting regular reviews of the progress achieved.
The district magistrate made it clear that no laxity or negligence in efforts to improve network connectivity would be tolerated. He said ensuring uninterrupted and adequate mobile network services at every polling station across the district remains the administration's top priority....
