PRAYAGRAJ, June 8 -- A case involving an alleged misappropriation of over Rs 7 crore-linked to the admission process and conduct of examinations-has come to light at the Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (PURTOU), covering the academic sessions from 2015-16 to 2019-20. The district administration has initiated an investigation based on documents provided by the complainant. A complaint initially sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in New Delhi was forwarded to the Uttar Pradesh government. Subsequently, the Higher Education Department of the Uttar Pradesh government issued directives to investigate the allegations levelled against the university.
