DM meets officials of pol parties
Lucknow, July 2 -- A meeting regarding the rationalisation of polling stations was held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday which was chaired by district magistrate/district election officer Vishakh G.
Representatives of recognised political parties in the district and all electoral registration officers attended the meeting. Detailed discussions took place regarding the proposed re-determination and rationalisation of polling stations across all Assembly constituencies of the district, in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India.
The DM explained that the rationalisation of polling stations is being carried out by the ECI to ensure that the number of voters at each polling station aligns with prescribed standards. He stated that 100% physical verification of buildings was conducted during the re-determination process, and proposals have been prepared regarding new residential areas, dilapidated or unsuitable buildings, and the creation of new polling stations where necessary.
He requested representatives of political parties to submit their suggestions and objections regarding the proposed polling stations within the stipulated timeframe so that they could be examined and a final list prepared.
