LUCKNOW, March 27 -- A dispute that occurred nearly six months back over bursting firecrackers during Diwali celebrations, escalated into a gruesome revenge killing in Chinhat, where a 20-year-old youth was allegedly murdered by his acquaintances, said police. Police arrested three accused Anas Khan (19), Ashu Nishad (19) and Priyanshu Gupta (21) for killing Ritesh alias Bala, whose body was found on a vacant plot in Kalyani Vihar on the intervening night of March 22 and 23 under Chinhat police station limits. Police said the deceased and all the accused, including one more person who is at large, are the residents of Chinhat and knew each other very well. According to police, the murder stemmed from a Diwali altercation that led to an FIR against the deceased. The accused allegedly harboured resentment over the case, which intensified as the victim continued to taunt them. "Even after the FIR and chargesheet filed against the deceased Ritesh Singh, the accused felt humiliated. Ristesh would often mock them, saying they could not harm him even after a case," said deputy commissioner of police (East Zone) Shashank Singh in a press conference on Thursday. "On the night of the incident, the trio allegedly lured Ritesh to a vacant ground on the pretext of drinking together. He was made intoxicated before his throat was slit in a pre-planned attack," the DCP added. "The accused were arrested within 24 hours of the FIR near the Kisan Path service road. Police recovered a blood-stained knife used in the murder, the victim's mobile phone and other evidence based on their disclosure," said additional DCP (East) Amol Murkut....
