Differently abled, elderly will get priority during Badrinath and Kedarnath visits
Dehradun, May 16 -- Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has introduced a priority darshan facility for elderly and differently abled devotees visiting the shrines of Badrinath Temple and Kedarnath Temple, officials said on Friday.
BKTC chairman Hemant Dwivedi said the move aims to "ensure dignity, safety and convenience for senior citizens and differently-abled pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham pilgrimage". He added that special arrangements have been put in place at both shrines to facilitate smooth and safe darshan for these categories of devotees.
BKTC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sohan Singh Rangad said the priority darshan system has been implemented in accordance with the standard operating procedures issued by the temple committee. Under the arrangement, darshan for elderly and differently-abled devotees will be conducted for a total duration of one hour daily at both shrines.
He said the one-hour window will be divided into four slots of 15 minutes each, with up to 50 devotees allowed in each slot. During these designated slots, only elderly and differently abled devotees will be permitted to enter the temple premises for darshan.
According to the schedule issued by the committee, priority darshan will be available in the morning from 8:00 am to 8:15 am and from 10:00 am to 10:15 am. In the evening, the facility will be provided from 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm and from 4:45 pm to 5:00 pm....
