Dehradun, July 31 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over large number of complaints related to drinking water supply and Jal Jeevan Mission and directed officials to ensure that all pending grievances are resolved within a week, warning that negligence in addressing public complaints would invite strict action. Chairing a review meeting of the chief minister's Helpline-1905 at the Secretariat, Dhami said the helpline was an important platform for ensuring the speedy resolution of problems faced by people across the state. He stressed that every complaint received through the system must be resolved in a timely, transparent and satisfactory manner. The chief minister directed the heads of departments to immediately issue show-cause notices to officials who have registered a zero-percent resolution rate for complaints received through the helpline. He said "disciplinary action should be initiated against such officials if their explanations are found unsatisfactory". Expressing concern over the high number of complaints against the drinking water department and the Jal Jeevan Mission, Dhami instructed the concerned officials to "ensure the disposal of all pending cases within seven days". He warned that "accountability would be fixed at every level if grievances remained unresolved beyond the stipulated deadline". The chief minister also directed departmental heads and district magistrates to regularly monitor complaints pending for an extended period and review cases categorised under ""Demand" and "Suggestion" to ensure that genuine grievances are not ignored. Emphasising the need for regular public interaction, Dhami directed officials to organise "Samadhan Diwas" every Monday at the district, divisional and state levels.
