Dengue, malariacontrol needs publicparticipation: Pathak
LUCKNOW, July 2 -- UP deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Wednesday said public participation is essential to effectively control dengue and malaria, while noting that encephalitis has been brought under nearly 99% control in the state.
Launching the special communicable disease control campaign at the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Pathak urged people to prevent waterlogging, eliminate mosquito breeding sites and maintain cleanliness around their homes.
He said prevention remains the most effective strategy against dengue, malaria, encephalitis and chikungunya.
The deputy chief minister also interacted with MBBS and nursing students, reviewed hostel facilities and directed institute authorities to regularly monitor food quality.
He said he would personally visit the hostel to share a meal with students in the future....
