LUCKNOW, July 12 -- Deepti Sharma of the 2021-26 batch will receive a total of 18 medals at the 22nd convocation of the King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Monday (July 13). Defence minister Rajnath Singh will attend the ceremony as the chief guest where governor Anandiben Patel will confer medals on 20 meritorious. Giving this information at a press conference on Saturday, the medical university's vice-chancellor Dr Soniya Nityanand said Deepti Sharma will become only the seventh student in KGMU's history to simultaneously win the prestigious Hewett Gold Medal and Chancellor's Gold Medal besides the University Honours Gold Medal and the Provincial Medical Services Association Gold Medal. LUCKNOW At least 50 patients will face delays in surgery at the KGMU on Monday as the hospital has suspended all elective operations in view of its convocation.
