PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 9 -- Akasa Air will resume its daily flight service between Prayagraj and Mumbai from October 1, providing relief to passengers travelling between the two cities. The airline had reduced its daily Mumbai service to just one flight a week, operating on Mondays, after a rise in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices in July 2026. From October 1, the flight will operate on all seven days of the week. Online bookings for the service have already opened, officials said. Passengers can book tickets through Akasa Air's website as well as private travel portals, they added. The reduction in Mumbai flights had also affected flight operations at Prayagraj airport. As no flights are currently operating on Saturdays, the airport remains without any flight movement on that day. The resumption of Akasa Air's Mumbai service on all seven days will restore flight operations on Saturdays and increase the overall number of flights handled by the airport. At present, Prayagraj has air connectivity to six cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Bilaspur. However, none of these destinations has daily flight connectivity throughout the week. The airport also currently has no scheduled flights on Saturdays.
