VARANASI, Sept. 25 -- Police arrested a criminal wanted in a murder case and carrying a reward of Rs.25,000 after an encounter near the Asalpur culvert in Mau district, said officials on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Neeraj alias Tiger who is a resident of Dhampur Bairakh Sarai under the Dullahpur police station in Ghazipur district. He sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg. The police admitted him to the district hospital for treatment. A country-made pistol and a motorcycle without a number plate were recovered from the arrested accused. Circle officer (CO) Jitendra Singh stated a total of 10 cases, including serious offenses like robbery and murder, are registered against the accused across various districts. He said that on the evening of September 14, bike-borne youths killed Anish Kumar-a resident of Kazha Lakhanuadih village under the Ranipur police station-near a petrol pump in Sarsena village, within the Chiraiyakot police station area of Mau. Based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, Maniram, the police registered an FIR for murder against one Golu and five unidentified individuals....
