VARANASI, July 13 -- A property worth about Rs.10 crore, allegedly acquired through criminal activities by gangster Krishna Chandra Rai alias KC Rai, was attached by the Azamgarh police on Sunday following a court order, police said. Azamgarh city circle officer Shubham Todi said the action was taken under section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on the orders of chief judicial magistrate Satyabir Singh. A multi-storey property worth around Rs.10 crore in Kodar Azmatpur village, allegedly built by jailed gangster Ajit Rai using proceeds of criminal breach of trust, fraud, forgery, land scams and gang activities, was attached and placed under administrative control. Police said the building was used for gang meetings and planning crimes. Rai, lodged in Ambedkar Nagar Jail, has 16 criminal cases registered against him....
