Cops' fitness campaign draws 18k participants
JAIPUR, May 25 -- Rajasthan Police on Sunday organised a special and grand edition of the "Sundays on Cycle" campaign across the state, witnessing participation from more than 18,000 people, including police officers, personnel, and fitness groups.
The statewide initiative was aimed at promoting health awareness and encouraging citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle through the message, "Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz" (A daily dose of fitness for half an hour). The campaign forms a part of the historic 'Fit India Movement' launched by Narendra Modi in 2019.
The 75th edition of the campaign, which began at 6am, was organised under the guidelines of the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports on the occasion of Commonwealth Day, with the objective of strengthening sports culture in the country.
The event was conducted under the direction of Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma. Additional Director General of Police (Armed Battalion) and Chief Sports Officer Rupinder Singh supervised the campaign, while DIG Armed Battalion-II Vineet Kumar Bansal was appointed nodal officer for the statewide drive....
