Ajmer, July 4 -- Police on Friday arrested accused Vishnu Jat from the High Security Jail on a production warrant in connection with the murder of notorious dacoit Jagan Gurjar inside the prison. Under heavy security, armed personnel and Civil Lines police escorted Vishnu to the police station for questioning. While being brought to the station, Vishnu told reporters that he had a fight with Jagan Gurjar, which ultimately led him to commit the murder.Circle Officer Shivam Joshi confirmed that Vishnu Jat has been formally arrested in the case and will now be questioned in detail about the motive behind the murder, how the crime was executed and other crucial aspects of the investigation. According to police sources, the primary focus is to determine why Vishnu decided to kill Jagan Gurjar. Police will also probe why Jagan reportedly did not put up any resistance while being strangled. Investigators are exploring whether he had been given an intoxicating substance beforehand or whether there were other circumstances that prevented him from defending himself. Police have also recorded the statements of the two jail guards posted in the prison block where Jagan was lodged. Preliminary interrogation has revealed that Jagan Gurjar allegedly wielded significant influence inside the High Security Jail.
