Chikkamagaluru, April 30 -- A 36-year-old woman died allegedly by suicide at her home in this district, as she was deeply distressed over a marital dispute, a police officer aware of the matter said on Wednesday. The victim was a homemaker, they said. The incident that occurred at Birur in Kadur taluk of Chikkamagaluru district and came to light at 3.30 am this morning. According to police, distressed over the marital dispute, the woman allegedly took the extreme step and hung herself from a ceiling fan. The couple had been going through a rough patch in their relationship and frequently quarreled, a senior police officer said. No death note has been recovered so far. The couple who have been married for 12 years, have two children aged six and two years old respectively, he added. Further investigation is underway....
