Prayagraj, June 28 -- A container truck fell off a bridge near Mendara village on the Kanpur-Varanasi Highway in the Nawabganj area of Prayagraj. The driver was rescued safely and no fatalities were reported. Police said the truck was travelling on the highway when the driver reportedly lost control near the bridge. The vehicle crashed through the railing and fell below, causing panic among commuters and local residents. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and rescued the driver. A crane was later used to pull the truck out. Station house officer Pankaj Awasthi said the bridge was built over a canal.
