Congress flags UP power feud to PM Modi
LUCKNOW, June 13 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the alleged tussle between the state's energy minister and an official of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
In his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ajay Rai questioned whether the chief minister had acted on the energy minister's complaints and, if not, why the minister continued in office if the allegations lacked merit.
Rai alleged that administrative discord, institutional conflicts, ineffective regulatory mechanisms, and the growing financial burden on consumers have adversely affected the people of Uttar Pradesh. He urged immediate intervention to protect public interests.
In the letter, Ajay Rai said the issue goes beyond power supply or technical failures, pointing to a lack of coordination within the administration, unclear accountability, and shortcomings in implementing decisions affecting public interest.
