Dehradun, June 8 -- As political sparring continues over Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's cancelled Uttarakhand tour, the Congress on Sunday asked the ruling BJP to introspect before accusing the opposition. Congress MLA from Kichha, Tilak Raj Behar, said the BJP should examine its own conduct before targeting the Congress. "I heard what the chief minister said. His remarks came in response to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who on Saturday took a swipe at Gandhi over the cancellation of his visit. "His helicopter was arranged by his own team and the pilot was also his. The state government had no role in those arrangements. For Rahul Gandhi, going to the Andaman Islands was apparently more important than visiting Pauri and Almora. People have seen the visuals on social media," Dhami said. "We appreciate the pilot's decision as he prioritised Rahul Gandhi's safety. However, when the route plan for Almora was filed, why was the pilot not informed by the control room that the proposed route was cloud-covered?" he said. The BJP, however, said that bad weather was merely an excuse and that Gandhi cancelled the visit to avoid public resentment. On Thursday, BJP state general secretary Deepti Rawat Bhardwaj alleged that Gandhi called off his visits to avoid facing questions from ex-servicemen....
