Lucknow, Oct. 4 -- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices have been increased by Rs.2 to Rs.3.25 per kg in several areas in Uttar Pradesh, with the revised rates coming into effect from Friday in Lucknow and Unnao and from Saturday in Agra, Ayodhya and Sultanpur. In Lucknow, CNG will now cost Rs.107 per kg, up from Rs.105, following a Rs.2 per kg increase effective October 3. In Unnao, the price has similarly been raised from Rs.101.75 to Rs.103.75 per kg. The revised rates in Agra will take effect from October 4, with CNG becoming Rs.107 per kg, compared to the earlier Rs.105 per kg. The steepest increase has been announced for the Ayodhya and Sultanpur geographical areas, where CNG prices will rise by Rs.3.25 per kg, from Rs.101.75 to Rs.105 per kg, effective October 4. The company attributed the revision to an increase in input gas costs, including higher spot-market prices and fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
