CM orders immediate repair of roads, pits
Lucknow, May 3 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday instructed officials and agencies to immediately repair the roads and pits dug up for Jal Jeevan Mission works in various districts of the state. The chief minister was addressing officials during a review meeting.
According to the CM's directions, district magistrates and senior officials associated with the Jal Jeevan Mission in all districts of the state, and other concerned departmental officers must conduct on-site inspections to assess the condition of dug-up roads and pits. They must also ensure that these are filled immediately. Negligence at any level will not be tolerated, he said.
The UP government is working to provide clean drinking water from urban areas to rural regions and crores of people are being benefitted through the Jal Jeevan Mission, a state government spokesperson said.
Agencies and contractors responsible for delays, leaving work incomplete, or showing negligence will be penalised. The chief minister also directed officials to ensure that complaints related to water supply, leakages, and excavation on the Jal Samadhan portal are resolved on a priority basis, he said. In Uttar Pradesh, more than 2.50 crore rural households have already been provided tap water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission, he said....
