Dehradun, May 26 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday ordered all district administrations to intensify the campaign against encroachments and take strict action against violators of land laws across the state. Chairing a virtual meeting with all district magistrates in Khatima, the chief minister said government land located within gram sabhas should be thoroughly inspected to identify illegal occupation and encroachments. Dhami directed officials to conduct "inquiries into all land parcels purchased in alleged violation of prevailing land laws in Uttarakhand". "Such cases should be fast-tracked and, wherever violations are established, the land concerned must be vested in the state government," he added. The chief minister also instructed officials to remove illegal encroachments from enemy properties located in different parts of the state. He further ordered district administrations to regularly verify details of Waqf properties registered on the 'Umeed' portal and ensure that records were updated. Dhami ordered "scrutiny of arms licences issued to people who migrated from other states and directed officials to identify individuals with criminal backgrounds". He also instructed district authorities to inspect Jan Seva Kendras and identify ineligible beneficiaries allegedly availing government schemes through fraudulent ration cards. The chief minister asked officials to accelerate ongoing verification drives while maintaining strict surveillance on suspicious activities. Reviewing preparedness for the upcoming monsoon, Dhami directed all districts to complete advance preparations and organise district-level review meetings to assess readiness. He instructed officials to ensure timely repair of damaged roads in interior regions and maintain uninterrupted water supply during the summer season. "Any issues related to water supply or technical glitches should be resolved immediately on priority," he said. Dhami also issued strict instructions against unnecessary power cuts in the state. He said that in cases where outages become unavoidable, prior information must be communicated to the public in advance to minimise inconvenience. Reviewing the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, the chief minister directed officials to regularly monitor arrangements and obtain continuous feedback from pilgrims. He instructed authorities to improve facilities based on complaints and suggestions received from devotees and ensure adequate drinking water and traffic management arrangements along pilgrimage routes. He also directed officials to complete the Kainchi Dham bypass project, being developed under the Manaskhand Yatra initiative, by next month. The chief minister further reviewed schemes being implemented by the agriculture and horticulture departments, including the Poly House, Apple Mission and Kiwi Mission initiatives. He stressed that the benefits of these schemes must reach farmers on the ground instead of remaining limited to official paperwork. Dhami also directed officials to expedite reconstruction works in disaster-affected areas and sought updates regarding ongoing rehabilitation works in Joshimath.
