LUCKNOW, May 8 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and several senior BJP leaders changed the display pictures of their social media accounts on Thursday to display the logo of 'Operation Sindoor' on the first anniversary of the operation. By using 'Sindoor' in his display picture and a BrahMos missile image as the cover photo, the chief minister sought to convey a strong message commemorating the courage and valour of the Indian armed forces. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and defence minister Rajnath Singh, along with several senior BJP leaders, also changed their social media profile pictures on the occasion. The Indian Army had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7,2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. That same night, the government of India shared the image of 'Operation Sindoor' on social media platform X with the caption "Justice is Served." "The BrahMos missile, which wreaked havoc on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan, has a special connection with Uttar Pradesh. Its production is now being carried out in Lucknow, which is a matter of pride for the state," the state government said on Thursday.
