LUCKNOW, March 20 -- The crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal was not sighted on Thursday, hence Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on March 21 (Saturday), clerics announced on Thursday. The last roza (fast) will be observed on Friday. After the traditional moon-sighting process, Qazi-e-Shaher and chairman of the Central Moon Sighting Committee, Mufti Abu Irfan Mohammad Naeem-ul-Haleem Farangi Mahali, said the sighting of the Shawwal moon had not been confirmed from anywhere. "Therefore, the first day of Shawwal will be observed on March 21. I extend Eid greetings to everyone," he said. Chairman of the Sunni Markazi Chand Committee, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali, also confirmed the announcement. Meanwhile, Shia Markazi Chand Committee chief Maulana Saif Abbas also said there were no reports of the moon being sighted from any part of the country....
