Class 12 student dies in accidental firing
AGRA, Aug. 10 -- A 17-year-old Class 12 student died after a gun kept at an under-construction building accidentally went off where he and other students had gathered for tuition classes on Saturday evening. The injured student was rushed to SN Medical College in Agra, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to Anil Kumar, assistant commissioner of police, Pinahat circle, Agra Police Commissionerate, "Police found that villagers had called some hunters to deal with stray animals damaging their crops. The hunters arrived with a semi-automatic gun and stayed at an under-construction house in the village, where their firearms were kept."
"Mohit picked up a semi-automatic gun out of curiosity when it accidentally went off, hitting him in the thigh. He was rushed to SN Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries later that night," Kumar said.
No complaint has been lodged in connection with the incident so far, police said. However, they added that appropriate action would be taken if a complaint is received...
