New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka on Thursday took down social media posts about BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia, hours after the Delhi high court disapproved of allegations levelled without proper verification. The court declined to immediately restrain them from posting further content in view of their undertaking but asked Meta and X to take down identical posts in future if Bhatia flags them. Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, hearing Bhatia's defamation lawsuit, observed that while the youth have the right to express, the expression has to be verified and conveyed in a manner that "goes the right way". Das had claimed that Bhatia, called Swatantra Bhardwaj, arrested for an alleged assault during CJP's student protests, a "dimagi naxal". Bhatia filed a defamation suit, also naming CJP founder Abhijit Dipke and Ranka, after Das first shared an AI-generated graphic on X saying that the BJP leader called Bhardwaj a "dimagi naxal" on September 5.
